Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Assistant Director, Dental.
The Assistant Director of the AEGD program is the direct point of contact for Residents, Faculty and Site Dental Directors within their geographic areas comprised of multiple cities and/or states.
Responsible for program outcomes in his/her region.
Manages program policies and procedures associated with the program.
Monitors the residency training program website (New Innovations) to ensure all evaluators and evaluates (faculty and residents) are correctly identified on the appropriate evaluations.
Routinely monitors all dashboards to ensure AEGD resident, faculty and clinical training site dental director compliance with required reports (clinical outcomesquality and quantity).
Manages all documents associated with the residents, faculty and clinical sites in his/her region.
Performs faculty, program and resident evaluations-Initiates faculty evaluation of resident competency, review results of evaluations with residents when necessary.
Works with the site dental director to develop action plans for residents to achieve procedure goals as necessary. Ensure that residents will achieve procedure goals.
Conducts monthly chart audit reviews on patient charts managed by residents as applicable and appropriate.
Be familiar with and monitors residents' certificate requirements throughout the residency term.
Conducts routine meetings with residents, site dental directors and faculty.
Documents all local and regional activities beyond meetings and chart audits that are part of a clinical training sites formal quality assurance program.
Develops the regional day curriculum. This includes the organization of, but not limited to: resident assignments for treatment plan presentations, case presentations and literature reviews, hands on and other workshops, faculty or guest lecture sessions and serve as facilitator during region day or assign a responsible faculty member or designee.
Works with the Director of Research and Assistant Director of Graduate Dental Education regarding monitoring the overall resident compliance with completion of the public health project requirements(for PGY-2 residents).
Ensures that residents receive a clinical training site orientation and are aware of all other interdisciplinary care departments and resources available at the training site.
Works with Dental Site Director to establish resident schedules and hours.
Will attend and participate in all mock site and CODA site visits and act as the lead administrator. Develop the Site Evaluation Package, collect all required supplemental documents, manage all program outcomes
Where and when applicable and reasonable, attends local and national venues for the purpose of new resident and clinical training site recruitment. Will communicate directly with the Director of Recruitment for approval of attendance at venues as well as provide necessary information and feedback.
Oversees entire candidate application, interview and selection process and will work directly with the clinical training Site Dental Director in this endeavor.
Works in conjunction with the Senior Associate Director to identify matched and post matched residents.
Responsible for the activity regarding the identification and credentialing of new program faculty members.
Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) required.
5 years of direct patient care.
Valid New York State Dental license.
Previous supervisory experience
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
