The University of New Hampshire Institute on Disability seeks a part-time Project Manager to assist with the development and implementation of the UNH-4U inclusive post-secondary program for young adults with intellectual disabilities at the UNH-Durham campus. The program is designed to provide students with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to participate in the academic, residential, social, and cultural experiences offered by the College, with appropriate support for success. The Project Manager will collaborate with faculty and organizations across campus and beyond to promote the inclusion and success of UNH-4U students in all facets of campus life, and to extend the benefits of the inclusive experience for all members of the campus community.
The UNH-4U Program Manager role will be a non-status hourly position for 28 hours per week initially with the potential to go full-time in the future. The qualified candidate will have experience in transition planning, person-centered planning, mentoring, higher education environments, and in supporting the academic, social, emotional, vocational, recreational and independent living needs of the anticipated student population. In addition, prior experience developing and facilitating personalized learning plans, working with undergraduate students in campus life settings, and the ability to collaborate closely with students, parents, university personnel, faculty, academic coaches, and peer mentors is highly desirable. Eligible candidates must have a proven track record of attention to detail in both written and verbal communications, and demonstrated adherence to inclusive education and best practices; as well as a commitment to quality improvement, reflective practice, and process and program evaluation. Experience with grant writing and scholarship associated with inclusive higher education is a plus. The Project Manager will report to the Project Coordinator for the UNH-4U program.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Assist the Project Director developing the necessary operating systems to ensure a successful program launch for the first UNH-4U cohort. This includes assisting in the preparation and documentation of project demonstration procedures, recruitment and evaluation of prospective students; facilitation of person-centered planning; collaborate with faculty to facilitate inclusion across campus; coordinate a peer mentor program, collaborate with organizations on and off campus to implement a professional internship program and facilitate competitive employment, oversee daily operations and monitoring of student schedules, academic coaches and mentors, documentation requirements for assessing student and program performance for progress reporting to academic units, university administration and funding organizations.Location UNH, Durham, NH Required Qualifications
Master s degree and experience with inclusive education required. Leadership and administrative experience are essential, as are effective written and verbal communication skills, as well as use of current and assistive technologies. The Director must be able to collaborate effectively with a variety of partners, and have excellent facilitation, planning, and organizational skills.Preferred Qualifications
